GOCABY Technologies Ltd. is committed to protecting your personal information. This Policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and your rights.
Applies to: Riders, Drivers, Partners, and website visitors
This Privacy Policy is issued in compliance with the Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA) 2023 and the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation (NDPR). By using the GoApp or any GoCaby service, you consent to the collection and use of your information as described herein.
GOCABY Technologies Ltd. (“GoCaby,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) operates the GoCaby platform, including the GoApp mobile application, website, and all related services (collectively, the “Platform”). This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, share, and safeguard personal information across all Platform users — Riders, Drivers, Partners, and visitors.
We take data privacy seriously. We do not sell your personal data. We collect only what is necessary to deliver our services safely and improve your experience.
As a GoCaby Driver, you accept this Driver Privacy Notice when you sign up and activate your Driver account. It governs how we process the personal information you provide in your capacity as a Driver.
Personal Information
When you register as a GoCaby Driver, we collect:
Location Information
We collect real-time GPS location data while you are logged into the GoApp Driver interface. This data is used to match you with nearby Riders, provide navigation, verify trip completion, and detect and prevent fraud. Location data is collected continuously during active sessions and is not collected when you are logged out.
Usage & Trip Information
We collect information about your interactions with the Platform, including trip history (pick-up/drop-off locations, distance, duration, timestamps), earnings records, cancellation patterns, ratings received, and any communications with GoCaby support or Riders through the App.
With Riders: Your first name, profile photo, vehicle details (make, model, colour, plate number), and ratings are shared with Riders when you accept a trip request, to facilitate safe and transparent service.
With Payment Partners: Bank account and earnings information is shared with Providus Bank for disbursement processing.
With Regulatory Authorities: We may disclose Driver information to the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Nigerian Police, or other competent authorities in response to lawful requests, court orders, or where required by law.
Confidentiality Obligations: As a Driver, you will have incidental access to Rider information (name, location). You are strictly prohibited from using, sharing, or storing Rider information for any purpose other than completing the assigned Trip. Any breach of this obligation may result in account termination and legal action.
During your engagement with GoCaby, you may have access to confidential business information, including operational data, pricing structures, and customer information. You agree to treat all such information as strictly confidential and not to disclose it to any third party without prior written consent from GoCaby, both during and after the termination of your Driver account.
You must comply with all applicable data protection laws and regulations regarding the collection, use, and storage of any personal information you access in connection with your role as a Driver. Misuse of personal data may expose you to civil and criminal liability.

With Business Partners: We may share aggregated, anonymised, and non-personally identifiable data with Partners and service providers for analytics and operational improvement. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to any third party for commercial purposes.
For Legal Purposes: We may disclose your information where required by law, court order, subpoena, or lawful request from a Nigerian regulatory or law enforcement authority, or where we reasonably believe disclosure is necessary to protect the safety, rights, or property of GoCaby, our users, or the public.

GoCaby employs industry-standard technical and organisational security measures to protect your personal information from unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These measures include data encryption in transit and at rest, strict access controls, secure server infrastructure, and regular security audits.

Drivers: The GoApp collects continuous GPS location data from Drivers during active sessions to facilitate ride-matching, navigation, and fraud detection.
Riders: Location data is collected during the booking process and active Trip to display available Drivers, enable pickup, and provide live tracking.
You may disable location permissions through your device settings at any time. However, doing so will materially impair or completely prevent your ability to use the core features of the GoApp.
The GoCaby website uses cookies and similar technologies (such as pixel tags and web beacons) to enhance user experience, analyse site traffic, remember your preferences, and measure the effectiveness of our communications.
The GoCaby Platform is not directed at persons under the age of 18 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If we become aware that we have collected personal data from a person under 18 without verifiable parental consent, we will promptly delete that information and terminate the associated account.
If you believe a minor has provided personal information to GoCaby, please contact us immediately at support@gocaby.com.
GoCaby may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our data practices, applicable laws, or operational requirements. Where changes are material, we will notify you through the App or via the email address registered to your account at least fourteen (14) days before the changes take effect.
The “Last updated” date at the top of this Policy indicates when it was most recently revised. Your continued use of the Platform after the effective date of any revision constitutes your acceptance of the updated Policy.
